A model IVF baby

Tyra Banks has shared the first picture of her newborn son, who was born last month via a surrogate after many IVF attempts.

The former model and America’s Next Top Model host took to Instagram on Valentine’s Day to share a picture of herself and baby York, her first child with partner Erik Asla.

“This is the Happiest Valentine’s Day of my life,” Banks captioned the imaged. “York, Daddy @erikasla and I send you so much love.”

Last month, Banks announced the birth of York also on social media.

“As we thank the angel of a woman that carried our miracle baby boy for us, we pray for everyone who struggles to reach this joyous milestone. York Banks Asla, welcome to the world.”

The 42-year-old has been vocal about her fertility issues and treatment, which she described at times as being “traumatic.”

“When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids. I’m like, ‘Damn, the clock is ticking!’ When you’re like, ‘OK, I’m just going to do it,’ then it’s not so easy as you get older.

“I’ve had some not happy moments with [IVF], very traumatic moments. It’s difficult as you get older. It’s not something that can just happen.”
