A mother has posted on social media a breathtaking photo of her baby daughter sleeping peacefully surrounded by hundreds of syringes, to illustrate the experience of IVF.

The child’s mother, Angela, had become pregnant after more than a year-and-a-half of IVF cycles.

American fertility clinic, the Sher Institute, posted the image on their facebook page, with the post, “Wow, what a picture. Thank you to […] Angela, who shows the true definition of love that went into making this gorgeous new baby girl.”

The post has since been shared more than 3,000 times, with parents around the world exchanging their own stories of IVF and beautiful babies.

In an interview with ABC News, Angela said, “The needles were the easy part. It was the emotional struggle, the ups and downs, that really took a toll.”

“I’m single and waited a long time for a husband to come,” she said. “And then by that time it was difficult to get pregnant.”

Her advice to other women undergoing IVF? “Just hang in there.”
